Dolphin recommendations of fantastic places to eat in Estepona
One thing Estepona has got plenty of, is restaurants and bars, you are spoilt for choice. You can opt for International, traditional Spanish, Chinese, Italian, basically anything you fancy. There are lively bars, quiet bars or bars that you can sit and people watch, to your hearts content.
Here at Dolphin, we love a night out to one of the local restaurants, so we thought we would share our favourites with you.
Cumuri - International
Centro Comercial Laguna Village, A7km, 159, Estepona
Set in the luxury beach club resort of Laguna Village, Cumuri has something for everyone, from fresh fish to hamburgers, the menu is definitely international. A must try there, is the sushi which is absolutely delicious.
However, the main thing that makes Cumuri a must visit, is the location. You dine overlooking the sea, which is beautiful night or day. The menu is not cheap, but if you do not go crazy it would sit in the medium price range.
La Tarantella – Italian
Located in Calle de Santa Ana 15
A relatively new restaurant in Estepona, this Italian has lovely décor including a stunning living wall.
In the medium price bracket, the pasta and pizzas are absolutely delicious, but Joy´s personal favourite is the apple and goats cheese salad, and if you have a sweet tooth the tiramisu is to die for. Seating is all indoors, however it is a lovely open space so you certainly do not feel enclosed.
Thapa Thai - Thai
Arrabal Pto Deportivo 13, Estepona
Located in Estepona Port, Thapa Thai is absolutely lovely if you enjoy Thai food. Always tasty, the selection is fantastic, and it´s always freshly cooked to your spicy requirement.
It is the service that makes Thapa Thai, the owner Charlie is extremely welcoming and his team make the whole experience amazing.
La Galeria - Spanish
Located in La Galeria, Calle Caridad 48
This is Tracey´s favourite, the winner of Ruta de Tapa again this year (a twice yearly event in Estepona, where restaurants give away tapas as they compete for the prize of best tapa in Estepona).
There is an amazing choice of tapas, from duck pate to pesto brusetta, plus a great collection of main courses and a favourite of steak lovers.
The prices are extremely reasonable, and the service is very welcoming. Located two streets back from the beach, it is in the old town, and is in a very pretty location. Lovely decoration inside the restaurant in the winter, and lots of tables outside for the summer months.
As well as our personal favourites, there are several others that warrant a mention. There are two fabulous gormet tapas restaurants close to La Tarantella, the first one, just down the hill is Casa del Rey. An extremely popular restaurant, which on most evenings requires you to make a reservation or further up the hill is La Esquina del Arte. Both of these restaurants have got very similar tapas menus, however if you are going in a busy holiday time, there is more outside seating at La Esquina del Arte.
If you want to eat on the beach and fancy a chiringuito, there are two we would highly recommend; firstly Palm Beach is a very friendly Dutch owned business. Great for sitting and savouring the amazing views of Africa and Gibraltar, and also great for private parties. They often have live music, so it is worth checking if there have anything coming up. Secondly, Chiringuito Africa. Again boasting fantastic views, it is closer to the town centre, and one of the best places in our opinion for paella. Typically Spanish, you will get a very warm welcome.
