Our stunning Estepona has been full of beautiful art work for many years, due to the stunning 50+ murals that decorate the streets.
The murals are enhanced by the brightly coloured flower pots, which line the streets. The murals are mainly located around the old town, the effect is stunning especially in the summer when the colours twinkle in the sun.
Apart from the beautiful art work, there are also many artists who frequent the area. Lots of them can be seen at the beach and around the town painting the sunsets or the local fisherman. Their work is on sale at some of the local markets.
There are plenty of markets in and around Estepona, selling art plus lots of other souvenirs. The main markets in this area are Saturday mornings in Puerto Banus (near the bullring), get there early before the crowds arrive. It can get busy especially in the summer months. Puerto Banus market has a large array of merchandise, from art to clothes, keep a couple of hours free to get around all the stalls.
Another popular market is Sunday morning in Estepona Port. This is a much smaller market, but great if you want to pick up a souvenir or two. The Port also has lots of nice little restaurants and cafes, where you can sit and people watch. A warning though, the bars and restaurants are very busy on market day so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table.
A few other good outlets to buy art are the local restaurants, two of Estepona favourites, La Esquina del Arte (https://www.facebook.com/La-Esquina-Del-Arte-1642864415934760/) and La Galeria (https://www.facebook.com/LaGaleriaBarEstepona/) sell art within the restaurant. An added bonus as you can eat amazing gormet tapas and purchase a bit of art in the meantime.
